Looking back at 2024

As this year comes to an end, I wished to write a little bit and share my feelings regarding a few things. However, I don't want to celebrate any personal achievements or anything.

First and foremost I can't stop thinking at the ongoing genocide happening in Gaza: as of 10 December 2024, 44,786 Palestinian have been reported murdered by Israel, as well as 156 journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, a number that includes 179 employees of United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

In November 2024, the United Nations published its analysis covering only victims verified from at least three independent sources over 6 months span between November 2023 and April 2024 found that 70% of Palestinian deaths in Gaza are women and children. That's more than 31,337 fully innocent lives being taken by the Israeli genocidal regime.

On top of this, adding the political context in Europe, with the far-right rising more than ever in many countries, I can only reflect on our own dehumanization. It's quite grim, I know, but the words needs to be said and written.

While I witnessed all this shit falling on us, and us letting people being murdered by the fascist, Israel, state. I remain speechless. Not that I didn't had many discussions, attended demonstrations, tried to support as best as I can these oppressed people. I can say that I never felt so powerless.

2025 is coming and for the sake of everyone, that will need to change. Quickly.
